12/28/2023 0 Comments Nueva cancion plastilina mosh 2012I’d be content for it to be on the soundtrack for an indie horror flick. It really is left to the listener’s psychotic interpretation. While musical composition may not sound too different from most of the songs, it achieves its place at the top with intellectually disturbing lyrics about an incident I’d prefer not to even ask about. The song “The Devil is Here with Me” is the darkest song on the album. There are two songs that play on the dichotomy of good and evil that will forever exist in whatever parallel universe we are in. After this, the album continues onto very simplistic pastures with nothing more than guitars leading the way on the songs “He is My Friend” and “Don’t Hate the Man”, which has sudden, spacey-echo as it goes across its chorus. It really shines as an introduction into this new world with its adventurous, yet-mildly suggestive lyrics. The banjo-guitar duo does an excellent job of gracefully switching between fast-paced rhythms to a slow, sounding trot akin to the step of horseshoes. After 8 attention-grabbing seconds, the Apples run out of the saloon and jump on their horses to find to a sexy-Appalachian lady they’ve heard lives around these parts. How well the music survives depends on who happens to listen when they ride into town.Īsymmetrical Apples, vocally led by Miami resident Shaun Wright, begin their ride with their title song “Follow the Sun” which has a snazzy, stringed intro that is surely focusing on the outside of a saloon. Folk music has survived the fallout, and is carried across the land by this group of roaming rough riders. Society has harkened back to the age of the cowboy, the Neo-Wild West. Listening to Follow the Sun, the debut album from Asymmetrical Apples, made me think of a parallel universe where the world has been left a post-apocalyptic no-man’s land by God knows what. There must be entire existences where the world has become very different from its next dimensional kin. There are days I ponder the idea of parallel universes. La cama tiene el aroma a tu piel palida flor de la noche. So please enjoy this dose of audible sexy and right after please listen to the original. I have heard some of her tracks before but nothing like this. I was reintroduced to Jumbo by a good friend a few years back and listened to their masterpiece “ Restaurant” for some reason I over looked the song “Tu Me Ves.” After hearing Andrea‘s rendition to the song I find my self trying to hear what she heard in this track. She transformed this Latin Alternative song into a smooth R&B odyssey that whispers sexuality in your ear. Rebooting the essence and giving the song a whole new dimension are essential in the longevity of a epic cover song.Īndrea Balency took on covering the oddest of Jumbo tracks and like a musical scientist she re-conjured the most beautiful version of a straight forward indie rock track. Making the song your own I believe is the trick. Creating a good cover is a art in itself.
